BURIRAM: -- A temporary “morgue” has been set up at the I-Mobile stadium in Buriram province to accommodate trouble-makers who allegedly ruin the Songkran festive atmosphere.
At the initiative of Mr Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United soccer club, the “morgue” was converted from a container and painted black. It was set up beside the stadium and will be used to keep trouble-makers who caused troubles at the stadium, the site of Songkran celebrations under the slogan “Buriram Songkran GU Elephant Event”.
It was reported that the detainees would be kept in the dark in the “morgue” until the end of the celebrations after which they will be turned over to the police for legal actions.
The celebrations feature concerts, a water tunnel, parties and various entertainment activities. They started at noon today and will last until tomorrow.
The organizers of the event have predicted that over 100,000 people would participate in the celebrations.
