Just paid a visit to a gentlemen that has the promises of being a fantastic wine maker. I first meet him through Mrs GL's organic and green farming group. 6 months back we had numerous discussions on the finer points of making homemade wine and after he learned of my Saudi back ground on this subject he would not let me go. I brought from the USA about 2,000 baht of wine yeast he was using bakers yeast. Today I had about 6 samples of his efforts.:flushed::D His wine is 4 to 6 weeks old and it is getting there. His wine at the moment is fruit based, grape, mulberry, pineapple, raspberry. He is completing a new home and in November he is to have his house warming party and ALL liquid refreshment will be provided which we will attend.:D:D He has granted me sole distribution rights for the SurinFarang.:D BTW he has all the legal documents from Thai authorities for this business.:D The large vats in the photos are 200 liters.;)

Hope he has a few big dogs. Wait until his neighbors find out what he is doing. Mind you GL knows, that could be a bigger problem. :D

SWMBO has informed me that our personal wine maker will be making a personal visit with COPIOUS amounts for evaluation.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:yum::yum::yum::yum::yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

Just received a FREE BOTTLE for CONSIDERATION. As I said before they have all the proper license for wine making and have been giving the go to sell even though they are waiting to revive their tax stamp. They were assisted by the Excise Department in Prasat. Their yearly license is 3000 baht. I shall wait for SWMBO to retune from the AGI fair before it is sampled. I was told this one is Mulberry wine and they have 14 other variaties and are working on more. Contact details can be seen on the label. After it is properly appraised I shall report.

I was sampling a bottle of fine fruit wine from Pak Chong on the night of my birthday. For those that know Cyprus I likened it to a fine Kochinelli which we used to fortify with cheap Cyprus bandy. My drinking companion likened it to port. We found out later by my wife's interpretation of the small print that it had indeed been fortified with Lao Kao (40 degrees) to give it the desired 14% vol proof. Not too bad for a Chateau Plonko!

The wines in your pictures are jolly good looking wines too. One would hope they are 100% fruit juice without the Lao Kao. In particular, the Local Fruit Wine at 15% vol should do the trick quite nicely. How much a bottle and where are his sales outlets?
