A little-known professional Australian golfer has set a provisional world-record score by shooting a 16-under 55 at the River Oaks Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.

Rhein Gibson produced his incredible round on the 6,698-yard par-71 course last Saturday, knocking in 12 birdies and two eagles.
"I am trying to think myself what happened ... I just kind of got hot I guess and every putt I hit went in," Gibson told the Eagle Eye Blog at Oklahoma Christian University, where he was an NAIA All-American during college.
Gibson's score matches the 55 scored by PGA player Homero Blancas on a par-70 Texas course in 1962. Blancas' score was previously noted as the world-record by Guinness Book of Records, until they changed their rules to require the course to be at least 6,500 yards long.
Ranked 1,444 in the world, Gibson, 26, plays on the Golfweek National Pro Tour, and is 12th on the money list after six tournaments, CBS Sports reported.
The native of Lismore, Australia, set the River Oaks' previous club record when he shot a 60 earlier this month, Golf Digest reported.

Danish Hells Angels and Bandidos bikers have been setting up chapters in Thailand, causing the Danish police to enter into close cooperation with the Thai police.
�The bikers shouldn�t think that they are safe in Thailand and can establish a base for criminal activities in Denmark. Both Thailand and Denmark have an interest in combatting organised crime that members of the biker gangs are involved in. We have agreed that the experience we have gained here in Denmark in our operations against bikers should be given on to the police in Bangkok and Pataya, and we can help the Thai police in concrete cases if they so wish,� says Kim Kliver, head of the National Police Investigation Centre.
Some 6-8 years ago, leading Danish Bandidos bikers helped set up Bandidos chapters in, among ther locations, Bangkok. This year, Danish Hells Angels have helped set up an HA chapter in Pataya.
The Danish police has registered regular travelling activity in which Danish bikers have gone for shorter or longer periods to Thailand
�Our efforts here in Denmark have put pressure on the bikers. Many of them are in prison and we have also hit them where it hurts most � their wallets. The Tax Authority (SKAT) has confiscated cars, jewellery and cash and handed out tax and VAT fines, so the criminal bikes have perhaps felt a need to place their funds elsewhere, where they believe we cannot get at them,� Kliver says.

Kliver says that Thailand may be the place where bikers believe they can hide their money and develop new supply routes for narcotics and the flesh trade.

Disco legend Donna Summer died at the age of 63, her publicist said Thursday. Summer was best known for such hits as "Love to Love You Baby," "Bad Girls" and "She Works Hard for the Money."
Summer won five Grammy Awards over the course of her career.
Summer gets a lift from future movie star and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger at her home in Los Angeles in April 1977.
"I don't like to be categorized because I think that I am an instrument, and if you play me, I'll make whatever particular sound is supposed to come out for that color, and so, in the overall spectrum of things, I'm just trying to be true to my, what I feel my mission is," Summer said in 2008.
In 1978, "MacArthur Park" became Summer's first song to hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.
Summer performs in Washington in 1978.
Summer broke out of the disco mold with her 1979 album "Bad Girls."
Summer appears with Dick Clark on "American Bandstand" in 1978.
Summer played Nicole Sims in the movie "Thank God It's Friday" in 1978. She won her first Grammy for a song from the soundtrack, "Last Dance."
Summer and her song "I Feel Love" were inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
Summer joined Will Smith at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring Barack Obama on December 11, 2009, in Oslo, Norway. "Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith," a family statement said. "While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. (CNN) -- Donna Summer, the "Queen of Disco" whose hits included "Hot Stuff," "Bad Girls," "Love to Love You Baby" and "She Works Hard for the Money," has died, a representative said Thursday. She was 63.
Her publicist, Brian Edwards, said Summer was suffering from cancer. She died surrounded by her family in Florida, he said.
"Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith," a family statement said. "While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."
Summer first rose to fame the mid-'70s, thanks to "Love to Love You Baby." The song, with Summer's whispered vocals and orgasmic groans helped define the mid-'70s disco trend and hit No. 2 in 1976. Summer followed the song with such hits as "I Feel Love," "Last Dance" and a disco-fied version of the Richard Harris hit "MacArthur Park," which outdid Harris' version by hitting No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. "Bad Girls" demonstrated Summer's vocal and stylistic range and produced two No. 1 hits, "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls," as well as a Top 10 ballad, "Dim All the Lights."
However, Summer had some trouble adjusting to the changing times. Her next album, "The Wanderer," went for more of a rock feel. It produced a Top 10 hit in the title track but fared relatively poorly on the charts -- especially after the success of "Bad Girls," a double album that spent five weeks at No. 1.
It wasn't until 1983's "She Works Hard for the Money," which became a ubiquitous video as well as a big radio hit, that Summer's fame approached its late '70s zenith.

The Recording Academy, which presented five Grammys to Summer, said she "had a dynamic voice and unique musical style that helped define the dance music genre in the '70s.'"
"She also was an artist who crossed many musical genres, as evidenced by her Grammy wins in the R&B, rock, inspirational and dance categories," Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said. "Her talent was a true gift to the music industry, and our thoughts and sympathies are with her family, friends and fans throughout the world during this difficult time."

"I was shocked to hear about Donna," singer Barbra Streisand said in a statement released by her publicist. "She was so vital the last time I saw her a few months ago. I loved doing the duet with her. She had an amazing voice and was so talented."
"She will be terribly missed. She was truly the #Disco Queen!" Singer La Toya Jackson said in a Twitter posting.
"We will miss Donna Summer! She changed the world of music with her beautiful voice and incredible talent," Janet Jackson told Twitter followers.
"Whitney. Tina Marie. Vesta. Now Donna Summer. The choir in heaven has a new member. They will be singing up a beautiful storm:)" actress Niecy Nash tweeted.
"Rest in Peace dear Donna Summer. Your voice was the heartbeat and soundtrack of a decade," music producer Quincy Jones tweeted.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Summer's honor to the Salvation Army.

In half an hour's time, the test series against the Windies starts at Lords. The Windies have been in the doldrums for some years now, largely due to administrative problems, but their recent series against Australia showed that they're beginning to get back something of their old flair (Australia won, but it wasn't always that easy).

They have a good fast bowling attack, though not yet quite up to the great days, and to stiffen the batting there is, as there has been for as long as I can remember, Shivnarine Chanderpaul. His batting action is quite horrible (worse than Dhoni's), but he's been the best batsman in the West Indies for ever, or so it seems. They used to say that Shiv was the best bat in the West Indies while Brian Lara was the best bat in the world... and even that's some time ago.

PTT and Bangchak Petroleum announced on Thursday morning that they are cutting pump prices by 0.30 baht per litre all kinds of petrol and diesel and by 0.50 baht a litre for gasohol E20.

The reduction of pump prices takes effect early morning tomorrow.

The new retail prices of fuel at outlets of PTT and Bangchak in Bangkok and nearby provinces will be 41.35 baht a litre for petrol 91, 37.93 baht for gasohol 95, 36.18 baht for gasohol 91, 34.98 for gasohol E20, 22.48 baht for gasohol E85 and 30.13 baht for diesel.

UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Olivier De Schutter was wrapping up an 11-day fact-finding mission that took him to poor inner-city neighborhoods and remote aboriginal communities that must fly in food at high cost.
He told a press conference in Ottawa that 800,000 households or up to three million people out of a total population of 34 million in Canada are "food insecure,'' or "simply too poor to eat decently.''
A shift in eating habits also has resulted in high obesity rates. More than one in four Canadian adults are obese, and almost two thirds of the population is overweight or obese, he said.
"My concerns are extremely severe,'' De Schutter concluded, urging Ottawa to develop a plan to both alleviate hunger and fight obesity.
"Canada has long been seen as a land of plenty. Yet today one in ten families with a child under six is unable to meet their daily food needs. These rates of food insecurity are unacceptable, and it is time for Canada to adopt a national right to food strategy.''
The Canadian government was equally critical of De Schutter.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney told reporters, "Canada sends billions of dollars of food aid to developing countries around the world where people are starving.
"It would be our hope that the contributions we make to the United Nations are used to help starving people in developing countries, not to give lectures to wealthy and developed countries like Canada.
"And I think this is a discredit to the United Nations,'' Kenney said, noting that Canada ranks sixth out of some 200 countries on the world social development index.
"I think (De Schutter's mission to Canada) is completely ridiculous.''
De Schutter, who was appointed in 2008, was scheduled to meet with Canada's health minister, Leona Aglukkaq, later in the day. He will present his final report to a forthcoming session of the Human Rights Council in 2013.
