Prasat si Kampeng Yai

We finally made it to Prasat si Kampeng Yai today. We were not impressed..

Have you ever thought of lowering your standards, it's made my life much more palatable. I just add a score of 4 to everything on a scale of 1 to 10. I generally find most things a solid 7 now

I have a web page that portrays "The Royal Road" and Prasat si Kampeng Yai was missing. I'll put up a few images but they are not going to add a lot.

I found Prasat Sikhorapum more interesting (although not a lot - on your scale 6/10) but that does not feature within the Royal Road boundaries. I may sneak some images of that ruin in there.

There are about 6 more that are on the border but inside Thailand that you do not show. I'll get there locations and pass it on.

Good idea George, but there are still many things that would fail to make a 7 even if you started at 5.

GPS is given hope these help. If I find more I shall pass on.

I try and keep up with it on a yearly basis (or whenever there's a significant rise in certain items, e.g. electricity). If you read the introduction to that page you will note "The following tables indicate the approximate average cost of commodities and services in Surin Province (as of 2017/2560):". Yes, I'm a year out in general.

I'll get it together tomorrow after qualifying tonight and post a few more images (for what they're worth).

Prasat Sa Khamphaeng Yai is a Khmer sanctuary comprising of three prangs on the same pedestal orientated to the east. The middle main prang is made of sandstone whilst the two smaller prangs are made of bricks, the southern one having a smaller prang behind. Two brick Vihans are in front of the brick prangs and face west. They are all surrounded by a 62 m x 54 m laterite and sandstone gallery. According to the Khmer inscription in the east “Gopura”, the monument was constructed in 11th century in the “Baphoun” style in order to present to the God Shiva of Hinduism Shivate. Later in 13th century the it was converted into a temple of Bhuddism Mahayana Sect.
