As a forum sponsor I often fill the role of advertising this forum. I have asked the proprietor of Jessies's bakery the exact same question as above. He declined.

    Another British Passport Change.

Reminds me of that joke: A woman comes home from the gynecologist and tells her husband that there is some bad news. " I'm sorry darling but he said I can't have sex for 2 months". The husband replies " What did your dentist say?" Back on topic, the fuss over British passports is annoying...

    Visa 30 day extension

What visa do you have? What is the basis of your request for 30 day extension? I was a little worried when you first posted about being a teacher here. Your circumstances are not clear but it appears they could be troublesome. Rather not talk about it on an open forum. I have been teaching...

    Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant O / Savannaket

Both wrong. Getting married legally costs a lot more. The district office may well only ask for 30 baht, but all of the other offices you need to visit cost a lot more. If your wife will agree not to tell the folks, then no need for all of the fuss. My marriage registration cost about...

    Looking for staff

Is Niang her real name??? I only ask because "Niang" is the Khmer word for "Nong", meaning someone younger and also a colloquial term for a waitress. In effect many waitresses in certain parts of Surin and Buriram would answer to the name of "Niang". Just a thought.

    Looking for staff

Couldn't agree more CoCo. We have been in need of staff for ages. Not even people in the village can be bothered, and they would only have to walk about 100 yards to work every morning. As it has turned out I am now going to give up my day job and become a member of staff myself.

How to grow 100 Pounds of Potatoes in 4 Square Feet

It was here in Issan. The results were very tall plants and a few potatoes under the dirt. The problem was the time of planting. They need a good 3 weeks of cold weather to get going. The tyres were in open air but in the shade. With the longer, cooler winters that seem to be happening in Issan...

It’s Not Just ABC: the Politics of English Teaching in Thailand

    Prasat Phanom Rung

I'm not that old IB. In fact my Dad was only 11 in 1957. I went to the Grand Palace in 2006. Showed Tax ID and Social Security card. I do, however, remember Buriram "farangless". That was in 1998. Could walk about town all day without seeing another westerner.
