1850 quid for uk visa

We complain about the extortionate rates we have to pay for thai visas,but I just saw today the proposed new rate for U.K. settlement visa -dependant relative 1850quid!!!Cry3.(cant find the pound sign)Non refundable(just shy of 100,000 baht) ......looks like you will be staying in Thailand tilak.

Personally I think the Thai visas are pretty reasonable. The problem with them is not so much the cost as the fact that you have to renew them every year (I'm not counting the Visa run system, which it seems to me is trying to have it both ways, and shows no sign of commitment to the country).
