Francois and Pat of 'The Beach' are opening their new restaurant on Soi Speed in a couple weeks. Should be some interesting tasty cuisine there to add to what one can dine on in Surin. French and Thai I believe. Good luck to them on their new venture. I believe it is named Apsara. Information to follow on the opening of this new restaurant in Surin City.

Nick, CO-CO and I used to start it in the earlier days wombat ... we never regretted it ... even when we were just a handfull ... always made it memorable !!!
Croc, Feret's off the grog though and I bet you regretted it the next morning.

Here are the very first two dishes out of Apsara's kitchen: Salmon three ways, rillettes, tartare and gravlax, as well as salmon carpaccio with passion fruit and olive oil dressing, cherry tomatoes and mint salad.

We moved to beef today with our version of the traditional French red wine beef stew Bourguignon, with mash, baby carrots, mushrooms and confit shallots.

That must be a very small portion or a very large plate.

I went off 'art deco' many years ago, almost as quick as it started. Ok, so I do know its called nouveaux cuisine but arty farty is just as good. Definitely not for me. Give me a full and meaningful plateful everyday of good old English cooking.
