Hello,

I am new to this forum and have a question about a Buddha statue.

Does anyone recognise this statue and it's relevance/meaning?

It does not look like a normal Buddha statue to me.

Regards

If the robe was not obscuring the rest of the text I could tell you. It is of a revered monk and not a Buddha as such.
The part I can read says Luang por which means "venerable father" and is used as a title for respected senior Buddhist monastics. Luang is a Thai word meaning "royal" or "venerable"
