A 30-year-old former teacher, Sroysuda Sitthison, found financial prosperity not within the confines of a classroom but in the bustling space of her own eatery, "Somtum Khru Ting".

Previously earning a meager 7,000 baht monthly, Sroysuda traded chalk and textbooks for fresh ingredients, now raking in up to 40,000 baht selling delightful dishes of somtum—a spicy Thai papaya salad—and other local delicacies, reported Daily News.

Located along the bustling Highway 24 in Sisaket Province, "Somtum Khru Ting" is always abuzz with customers, both dining in and taking away, creating queues that attest to the quality and popularity of Sroysuda’s offerings.

This haven for food enthusiasts started modestly but has now blossomed, thanks to word of mouth and the unbeatable taste of dishes imbued with the special touch of Sroysuda’s mother's homemade fermented fish sauce.

The journey from a contractual teacher earning 7,000 baht per month to a business owner was not without its challenges. Initial skepticism from relatives quickly dissipated as the daily earnings from the eatery started to dwarf Sroysuda’s former monthly salary. The financial transformation was undeniable, turning doubters into believers.

Customers, both regulars and newcomers, are continually drawn to the mouthwatering taste of the sea offered by dishes like the popular mixed seafood somtum.

The affordability paired with generous servings ensures that "Somtum Khru Ting" remains a favored dining spot, marking Sroysuda’s transition from teaching to entrepreneurship a resounding success.

"now raking in up to 40,000 baht selling delightful dishes of somtum" That presumably is turnover. With employees to pay and other expenses, I wonder what she really nets a month. No doubt more than the 7,000bt teachers salary

Pats sister runs an a-lacarte resturaunt in BKK, seating 30+ and turns over B30,000 +- per night--turn over minus wages, rent, power etc.

But the ฿30,000.00 is not earnings for one person? Or is it?

And an ala carte restaurant is not a som tam stall.

[Edit: Am I reading that correctly? Turnover of ฿30,000.00 per night after deduction of wages, rent, power and food. That is normally not referred to as turnover.]
