Rumor COVID-19 Kap Choeng .

And what I absolutely hate about most infection spreaders is that the infection is almost always obtained in "illegal" circumstances : illegal casino's, non authorized and not needed travels, forbidden parties ... everyday cops in Belgium raid house parties where sometimes 40 to 50 people gather without any protection because they feel "the need to party" !!!
If it were up to me I would cement them in and let them free when covid is contained. Pitty for them when they don't survive ... som nam naa !!!

In China they weld their doors shut.
Its a little extreme but there you go. You have folk in the world that agree with you. You must be very anxious indeed trying to do right by your parents and watching idiots like you mention. Hope everything pays off for you in the end.

I've had news of a cousin in Wales who has just died, sadly.

By September last, she had been enduring much pain (myalgia) for months, which was being treated with steroids, and the pain subsequently abated.

At the weekend, she passed away due to sepsis and also Covid-19. Her son, his wife, and their family are all at home having also been diagnosed with Covid-19, with a variety of symptoms

That she was well into her 80s is purely coincidental...

Yes, confirmed. The family in question had 2 sons at 2 of the schools in Surin. The was the primary reason for closing the schools in Surin until the end of the month. Both my daughters are now learning online from home. The husband was the first confirmed case, after returning from an illegal casino in the south-east. His wife was later confirmed, as were some other family relatives, 1 from Kap Cheong. His 2 sons have not tested positive as yet. The other reported case was a lady from Sikhoraphum who went on an extensive walkabout around Sikhor over the New Year, including a trip to Robinson's. She tested positive on return to Bangkok.

All this info was on the Thai media, in particular, the PTA net (PTA - parent-teacher association). The local network has been red hot of late.
Two days ago we were advised that the schools would reopen today, Monday, 18th January. Clearly, the authorities now feel it is relatively safe for the students to restart their education in the schools.

Did that happen @nomad97?
It certainly did, I dropped them off this morning. My first run out since my accident. The youngest daughter only received her email on Saturday night (21.00 ish). The oldest daughter received hers a couple of days before that.

That's it then.

The authorities must be confident that the risk of further infection is somewhere between Nil and minimal.

Probably safe until Songkran!

One stupid arrogant bitch "needed" to go on a skiing trip and did not wait for her obligatory test result after coming back : 5.000 men/women/kids in quarantine !!!

Fookin' Thailand, eh. ;)

My apologies for not mentioning. I did my 90 day report at Kap Cheong on Monday 11th. January. Very pleasant young lady met me as I got out of the car. Took my passport. I went to the toilet for a pee. When I came back two very pleasant ladies gave me my passport and explained my next reporting date. We all thanked each other with a smile and I left.
Very quick and efficient.

Same for me last Wednesday. No crowd, just a couple farangs waiting. 15 minutes at most. We dropped off some Starbeam goodies, Quesadillas and a cheesecake for lunch for the Immi workers and Immi cops. Went down well. Smiles all around and a quick turn around. Stopped outside of Prasat and bought some flower pots with various colored flowers for the window boxes. Got there just before 11 and were back in Surin by 12.
