Surin Legend
Some have commented that Surin has historic water shortage issues. My question is whether the current climate change in process is likely to make Surin hotter and drier or not. Our family rice fields are dependent on seasonal rains (no irrigation canals nearby) or meager and easily depletable well water from 45 meter deep aquifer layer. Under the government program to provide low cost small 'lakes' (about 2,000 THB cost), and the resultant proliferation of such, I can foresee overpumping from the aquifer coming up in that event. Can long-time residents comment, and cite links to studies relevant?
