Directions to Starbeam's with pics

Alan and all,

If you have been around Surin you know where BigC is and the main road that comes to it from the Government Hospital.

If you are coming along the road from the hospital heading to BigC you come to a set of lights where the street crosses the klong road. At those lights take a left onto the klong road.

Once on the klong road (it's a one way street) follow the road down until you see 'The Mind Kitchen' restaurant on your left. (This pic was taken from the other side. Mind Kitchen will be on your left.)


Pass the Mind Kitchen and the next street down is Soi Saboran 2. Take a left and follow the street down a block. Here's a pic of the sign on the corner. Notice the '2' on the smaller sign. Take the left there.





We are down inside the soi on your left about 150 yards.



There's some parking 2 lots down on your right.

Well it seems to have worked. Bear and Mam, John B and family, Colin and Wood, and others seem to have found our place today.

The above instructions worked for me today despite:

1. The next turn left, just past the Mind Kitchen and seen in the photo, is not Soi Saboran 2. Go a little further to find the Soi Saboran 2 sign.

2. It's a long 150 yards from the turn to Starbeam Lek. More like 250 metres. You can sell me real estate, Mike, but don't take up golf!

Beside the entrance you will find a fading Fahrenheit thermometer - perhaps the only one in Thailand. (Go metric, young man. Even Thailand has done that!)
