The FL has a set up across the pond catching the flying insect at night. Look closely and you will a blue fluorescent light on top of a roof.

Believe it or not.. He has been doing this for 4 weeks and it looks like no let up insight. He is averaging 4.5 kilos per night and with SWMBO marketing skills on FB customers are hitting the ranch at 0530 and are sold out by 0600. He is getting 100 baht per kilo. That comes out to 13.5k. He can buy the lao khao & beer.:D BTW I'm being told buffalo steaks tomorrow.:yum:

This is his setup. He is getting ready for tonight. He has two large white vinyl sheets (for making signs FREE) and Florissant light strips at the top. buckets with water at the base.

When I inadvertently leave an open door or window in the kitchen at night, and with the lights on, the place is swarming with insects within minutes. I am surprised you cannot hear me cursing!

All you need is a light source and something to collect them in. Something like this should do the trick.

In the villages I have seen them using an angled sheet of galvanised steel roofing with a florescence bulb hanging above it. Seems to work for them.

That will work but not for 5 kilo a night.
