The Phra Viharn National Park authorities have ordered the closure of Pha Mor E-Daeng cliff, a tourist spot on the Thai side of the border with Cambodia near the Preah Vihear temple ruins in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak district, from Monday, Nov 4.

Saksit Polsapsin, chief of Phra Viharn National Park, said Pha Mor E-Daeng cliff needed to be temporarily closed to facilitate the work of security officials prior to the International Court of Justice ruling on the Thai-Cambodian territorial dispute over the Preah Viharn ruins on Nov 11.

The national park will consider after Nov 11 when to reopen Pha Mor E-Daeng cliff to tourists, he said.

The situation along the Thai-Cambodian border in Kantharalak district of Si Sa Ket province was still normal on Sunday. Tourists were still allowed to go up the Pha Mor E-Daeng cliff for sightseeing as usual.
