Attraction Details:

This khmer santuary ruin is 12 kilometres from Ban Ta Miang on Highway No. 214 on the Thai-Cambodian border. Prasat Ta Muan Tot has a square base made of sandstone, similar to those at Ban Phluang. Prasat Ta Muan Thom is 200 metres from Ta Muan Tot sanctuary. Situated near a stream, it consists of 3 pagodas with floral and idol designs. There are also 2 laterite buildings and a pool beyond them.

This has always been the Khmer site with the most atmosphere.... when it's open. And hardly a tourist in sight.

Thanks for the photos - looks really good. Cent says, "the ruin is 12 kilometres from Ban Ta Miang on Highway No. 214 on the Thai-Cambodian border". I cannot find Ban Ta Miang on Google Earth although I do know the 214 runs through Kap Cheown. Can someone give me the directions on how to get there?

Its off the 224 not the 214. GPS 14.3498828821, 103.26649859 (prasat ta mean)

and GPS for Ban Ta Miang 14.4317491, 103.26539 (สถานีอนามัยตำบลตาเมียง)

Cent does great food but his direction do suck.T.I.C.

If your going out while in the area check out Prasat Ta Khwai at GPS 14.3517199956, 103.374655317 (Ta Khwai). Turn off on the 224 is at GPSfrom:14.444945, 103.359718 . This complex is now being used as a photo shot for Thai weddings.

I will have to buy that Garmin GPS I have been ruminating about.
My old Nokia phone GPS just does not cut it anymore.
 
Thanks Rice, I did see some ruins down that way, near the Buriram/Cambodia border. I will see if I can programme the lat & long into my Samsung Mega. See the technology section for info on the GPS.

I said I found some ruins near the Buriram/Cambodia border. Perhaps I should have gone on to say in the bottom left-hand corner of the province of Surin, for the avoidance of doubt!

Was there in 1994 was not that cleaned up.Will try and scan a few photos of the place way back when........progress.....
