SURIN - Police on Monday arrested four young men, all aged below 18, who had ganged up to steal motorcycles and other valuables in Prasat and Muang districts of this northeastern province.

At then home of one of the suspects, police seized a computer and a printer stolen from a child development centre in Nong Prue village in tambon Tani of Prasat district.

Pol Lt Col Pakasit Wiriyaphan, investigation chief of Chok Nasam police station, said the four minors confessed they broke into the child centre on Sept 22 and stole many items of teaching equipment.

They also allegedly confessed to have stolen motorcycles from many localities in Prasat and Muang district. They then disassembled the machines and sold the parts on Facebook to motorcycle repair shops.

Lucky they didn't steal anything in Prakhonchai or they would probably be facing the death penalty by now!

A death sentence usually means 10 years on death row, before they are reprieved. Probably a better deterrent for future thieves than the slap on the wrist they are likely to get!

A jail sentence, wherever it may be , of 2/3/5/10 years etc should be exactly that. No reduction for good behaviour etc. Add time on for bad behaviour!

Spoken like a true Prakhonchai Boy!
