Flood warning

September 2013 Cent. I remember it well. Cost me almost Bht 200,000.00.

The water level rose to about 200 mm in the kitchen and bathrooms and 100 mm in the lounge and bedrooms.

Remains of one of the wardrobes.

The government were also providing free sandbags although you were required to go and collect them from City Hall after filling them yourself. I heard that the roads around City Hall were under in excess of 1.00 metre of flood water so you'd be buggered on a motorbike.

The out-laws’ old house flooded and much of their furniture was destroyed. As the house was old and shabby, we built a new one to replace it. That flood cost me 1.25 m THB! (But is 1.5 meters higher than the old one...)

Our own house was next to be built - only after checking that the ground was WAY above flood level!
