Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant O / Savannaket

Its just another option for those (like me) with a single entry visa extention. If I wish to leave the country and have my visa extention remaining intact upon return, I need to buy a re-entry stamp so it can be done at the airport AND Korat Immigration now.

have to do a visa run march 14 any one know if the multi entry is still on offer at savanaket talked to an italian guy a few days ago he only needed a one entry but he told me he stopped at the casino hotel he told me it was fantastic value 1000 bt free food and free beer 24 hours with a plush room to boot he ended up staying 5 days that can't be bad if it's true his mate claudio says he's no bull shitter worth a look !!!

Just back from Savannaketh/Laos for my new Non-O-Visa. Same as usual nothing changed. Passport, 2 Photos of myself, Copy from the marriage certificate, Copy my wifes ID, Copy my wifes tabian ban. 5000 Baht fee. New Visum next day 2 pm. Easy. And the best is I found a gooood place to stay Leena Guesthouse. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Leena-Guesthouse-Savannakhet/211912572202152

I stayed at Leena a few years ago. Great place. Clean and tidy, rooms well equipped and very good value for money.

Frank,

I started a thread on ThaiVisa today about Savannaket. If you do post on TV your input could be useful.

Thanks.

Sorry Frank - they removed your post. :frown:

Yours, and AtB's, were marriage visas and my question was about retirement. I now understand that I am unlikely to get a Non-Imm 'O' visa based on retirement/over 50 - unless I go to England.

Alan's advice about getting married "It's only 30 Baht" ignores the 100k Baht for a wedding party and the inevitable gold !!!!!!

I met there a Swiss guy from Koh Samui , he applied for retirement visum . He showed his paper from the Swiss embassy about his retirement and he got it. No idea how much money he had to prove . Sorry

What he applied for was a single entry O Visa good for 90 days based on retirement. At the end of the 90 days he can apply at his immigration office for an extension to stay based on retirement with the same paper work he produced in Savannaket. As for the money had to show ether 800k in a Thai Bank or 65k per month income.

I wonder why they are against issuing multiple entry 'O's for retirement.

Both wrong.

Getting married legally costs a lot more. The district office may well only ask for 30 baht, but all of the other offices you need to visit cost a lot more.

If your wife will agree not to tell the folks, then no need for all of the fuss.

My marriage registration cost about 8500baht 8 years ago. I used an agent near to the British agency to do all of the work. The biggest fee, separate from the agent, was the 2500baht I had to pay for the affirmation to marry from the British Embassy. Seems it is getting expensive to be British nowadays.

BTW. I have never had a "village wedding". My wife didn't feel the need. She said it was money better spent. Mum, Dad (in law) and others agreed.

And I have also heard that multi "O" visas based on retirement are not available locally.

Hope this helps.
